My Lovely Daughter
One thing that makes me happy is my daughter Summer Lilynn. She puts a smile on my face; she makes my heart beat faster than usual. She brightens my world when it feels like everything is crashing down on me. She makes everything that is upsetting me go away. She makes every morning a great one when she looks at me and smiles --then I smile to let her know I love her. It makes me happy to see her laugh, play, and grow. She is one of a kind and very unique. She can put a smile on anybody’s face --you just got to let it show.

This Is My Opinion
What does being a productive citizen mean? To me, a productive citizen means to be a good citizen, which includes practicing your duty to vote. It means to do good things for others by helping people out or volunteer working. Also, a productive citizen will take part in and improve life in one’s communities. Being a productive citizen also means respecting “individual differences, points of view, and ways of life that are a different from our own. Obeying the laws, voicing your opinions about laws that are unjust, helping to encourage others to do what is right, and leading them into a good direction are also qualities that a productive citizen possesses. Unfortunately, taking part in the government includes paying taxes. We need to realize how the government works and encourage others to be productive citizens. Our game will show that every body has a part in our political system. Everyone has roles and responsibilities, including the people. Our responsibility is to vote – we all need to take an active part in the government. Every one needs to be well informed about important issues about the government.

Today, I am mad but not as mad as yesterday!
I feel my rights as a mother have been violated. I wanted to take my daughter to the doctor to get medical attention because she was sick, running a temperature of 101.9, and not eating. She was vomiting and had a runny nose. In my opinion, she was bad. Because I am in state’s custody and living in placement, I wasn’t allowed to get her the medical treatment that I wanted for her immediately. I have full custody over my daughter, and I have all her medical insurance. I have her certificate, her social security card, and her care link. I am not only her custodial parent because she is in my physical custody, but also she is in my legal custody. So, I have the ability to make the legal decisions for my child. “This can include education, religious up bringing,” and overseeing that my child has the best medical treatment.
I was advocating to staff and nursing about my daughter’s well being. I still did not and have not being able to take her to the doctor that I wanted to, so my mind could be at ease and I could get some sleep without having to be worried. I would feel better about getting my daughter the medical treatment that she needed, and I felt that no one was hearing me. Her temperature was not over 102. 5, so others believed she did not need medical attention. I was frustrated because at birth she died, but the doctors were able to bring her back to life, not once but twice. Her pediatrician told me to watch her very carefully, and if she ever got a temperature of 100 or above, I am to take her to the emergency room immediately. I was very upset because I do not want her to die again, especially over something that can be prevented. I feel that I am the mother, and it should be my decisions were she goes to see a doctor and my decision who the doctor is.

Is this a joke or what?
I read an article that Mrs. Dionne gave to me, and it was about this woman who was babysitting her neighbors’ children. Nothing against my teachers’ choices of articles, but this one was just plain stupid. I think that this lady is being a responsible citizen as she was watching the children and keeping them safe and secure off the street while they were waiting on the bus to pick them up for school.
This good citizen gets into trouble for not having a license to provide daycare services. The thing that bothers me is she’s not running a daycare facility! People, she’s keeping children off the street from drugs, fights, kidnapping, and out of harms way, in general.
I am even more ticked off that it was a neighbor who reported her. People need to think and know the facts before they go pointing out whose doing what wrong and breaking what law. Seriously, do you think she needs to be licensed to watch children for an hour? She’s helping her neighbors for crying out loud—get a clue then get a life!
Disclaimer: Thank God it’s America, and I have freedom of speech (see first blog!)

My Thoughts and Our Rights
Civics is the branch of political science that deals with civic affairs and the rights and duties of citizens. One of the rights I believe in the most is freedom of speech. This is the right to express ideas and opinions through speech. It also, includes the right to listen and opinions of others. This freedom guarantees that Americans can openly express their thoughts and ideas. We can talk freely to friends and neighbors or deliver a speech in public to a group of people.
Also, you have the right to express opinions about the government and to criticize the actions of government officials. I think we’re lucky because some countries do not have the right to speak freely. However, people cannot use their right to freedom of speech to injure others people. We do not have the right to spread rumors about others.
With my great right of freedom of speech comes great responsibility. My responsibility is to speak my mind, but make sure I do it respectfully.
I must make my point clear, but at the same time, I must avoid hurting or putting others in harms way. There is also an appropriate time and place to speak your mind and opinions freely.
Now it’s your turn!
What is your opinion?
What is your freedom you believe in the most?
What do you think is our responsibility?
What do you believe freedom of speech is, what is your definition?
